Vika Shvachkina holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology and psychology registration.
She has extensive experience working therapeutically with both adults and children of varying ages, presenting with a diverse range of mental health complaints and conditions.
She endeavours to create a nurturing therapeutic relationship in her practice where healing can take place.
Vika is particularly interested in working with adolescents and young adults with emerging mental health issues such as anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis and trauma related disorders. Her therapeutic work focuses on Mindfulness-based psychotherapies such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy.
She also implements Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and exposure-based interventions as needed.
COST: $180 per 50 minute session (reduced rates may apply for individuals with a low income). With a Mental Health Care Plan a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist, Medicare offers a rebate of $126.50 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.
